The AAUW Easton Branch was founded in 1926 with the aim of encouraging local young women to attend college. Our programs are mission based and community oriented. We welcome collaboration with other organizations and continue to collaborate with the Sigal Museum, the AAUW Bethlehem Branch, and ProJect of Easton. Our Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and to women whose education has been interrupted, as one way to fulfill the mission of AAUW. Our annual Evening at the Williams Center, Authors’ Luncheon and Poinsettia sale, as well as donations and other fundraisers, help fund these scholarships.
Branch meetings are generally held the third Tuesday or Saturday of the month at various locations in the Easton or Palmer area.
There are diverse Interest and Study Groups in the Easton Branch. Our current groups are: Book Discussion, International Relations, Afternoon Bridge, Out to Lunch, Tapas Dining, Mah Jongg, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging, Stitch & Be, and Women in Science.. New groups are formed in response to interest.
Branch members facilitate Let’s Read Math ™ workshops for young children in the Easton area to encourage a positive attitude about math and sometimes are able to offer a Women In History presentation to the community.
